About

My name is Kaos Emslie

I am an extreme horror author who focuses on cosmic horror with a psychological bent. I explore themes of mental illness, sexuality and gender identity, exploration of self, good vs evil, and the occult in my work. All of my works center around queer characters, as I am a queer author.

I am the parent of two amazing children, and we have three adorable kitties. I am Nonbinary, A-Spec, and Panromantic. I use THEY/THEM pronouns.

If you're interested in following along on my writing journey, please think about joining me on Substack for sporadic, possibly weekly, updates and fun!

Serenade

Valerie is a young woman with a love for classical music. Her life is a harmonious blend of vibrant colors and haunting melodies, but all of that changes when she crosses paths with Andy, a brooding artist who also happens to listen to classical music, and who seems to lurk in the shadows of her every move.

Andy is not just a brooding artist—he's dangerous, charming, and perhaps even a little too fond of his dark deeds. Each encounter between them crackles with a potent mix of attraction and dread, leaving Valerie questioning her sanity and her heart. Is Andy stalking her, or is it the other way around?

Their twisted dance of fate is underscored by a sinister rhythm that neither can escape.

Paint It Black

Enter the darkness within and heed the whispers... for in the shadows, the void hungers.

In Redwood Bay, Jack Miller and Charlie Duvall's chance encounter in a dimly lit bar sparks an unexpected and sinister journey. Drawn together by a shared desire for something beyond the mundane, they embark on a dark, twisted path starting at Jack's foreboding Victorian mansion.

As Charlie settles into her new home with Jack, whispers from the hidden Void within its walls begin to unravel their reality. Seduced by the ancient whispers and the promise of power, Jack and Charlie descend into madness, their minds entwined with the Eldritch horror lurking within.

Driven by the Creature's insatiable hunger, they turn to unspeakable acts, preying on the unsuspecting townsfolk to indulge their newfound craving. With each feeding, they descend deeper into the dark, where Sanity becomes a stranger.

But as the town spirals into chaos and the veil between worlds grows thin, Jack and Charlie must confront the terrifying truth of their existence. Will they succumb to the darkness consuming them, or will they find a way to break free from the clutches of the Eldritch abomination before it's too late?

Slaughterhouse

In posh Huntington Park lies a Victorian mansion. Within its shadowed corridors lives a young nonbinary adult named Nightmare Carroll, and their two ghostly best friends, Psychosis and Snuff. From a young age, Nightmare finds themselves entangled with the malevolent entity within the house known only as the Creature. After a horrific attack, Nightmare agrees to allow this monster to dwell within them, thus agreeing to feed Them. And what does The Creature feed on? Human Souls.

When Nightmare learns of the death of their girlfriend, they find themselves thrown into a mystery involving the occult, masked men, and ritual sacrifice. All the while, The Creature is patiently waiting for Nightmare to give in.

As the body count rises and darkness closes in, Nightmare must confront the true face of evil lurking within their midst. For in the heart of the Masked Man’s warehouse, where horrors reign supreme, the line between hunter and hunted fades into oblivion. Will Nightmare uncover the truth about the Masked Man and the violent death of their girlfriend, or will they be consumed by the darkness that lives within them?
